First Actionable Take Livestream this weekend
Check below for exact local times and to add a calendar reminder
The first episode of my new live (and hopefully highly interactive) show will take place this weekend.
If you have no idea what I am talking about, this should get you up-to-speed:
What will be discussed:
As
and I discussed in our recent Substack Livestream, 2025 is probably going to be WILD to the extent that any previous year of World War III will seem like an episode of a gardening or cooking show in comparison (i.e. very tame).As this is the very first episode for the year, anything which has happened since January 1 is ‘fair game’ for discussion, provided it can have an Actionable Take attached to it.
Here is what’s on tap so far. There are a few days to go yet till the Livestream so this is subject to change:
Donald Trump becoming “47” and his statements regarding Canada, Greenland and the Panama Canal.
The events in Las Vegas and New Orleans as examples of perception management.
The horrific fires in California: what has actually caused them and what’s the Actionable Take from that?
Elon Musk (a.k.a. the “free speech absolutist”) using his platform for aggressive election meddling in Germany and the UK…after obviously doing so in the US, and whether we can expect to see more “Tech bros”/Oligarchs using the platforms they run to do the same (the new ‘conservative’ version of Zuckerberg comes to mind).
The rise of AI and the inevitable explosion in fake content that is AI-generated and looks highly realistic. What’s the Actionable Take from that?
In the context of that last point above, here is some optional ‘homework’ for you in preparation for this weekend’s livestream:
I will reveal the complete answer during the Livestream.
Where to watch & how you can take part:
Here are the results of the survey I’ve sent out regarding which platform should be used for the livestreams:
As you can see, there are two options that are neck to neck.
However, following my recent experience Livestreaming on Substack, it became blatantly obvious to me that the Livestreaming functionality on that platform cannot yet accommodate the type of show I envision Actionable Take to be.
Specifically:
You can’t do a screen share or play any videos;
You can’t do a horizonal video;
You can’t use any overlays or screen-in-screen; and
You must have the Substack app to participate or even to just watch. Having a Substack account in itself is not enough.
Therefore, that option is out at this stage which leaves us with the other one which is using a dedicated livestream page.
Using this option means there are no prerequisites of any kind to watch live and participate. You just enter a name (doesn’t have to be your real name) and away you go.
Time & Calendar Invites
Given almost 60% of the subscribers to this substack are US-based, Actionable Take Livestreams will take place on Friday Evenings across the US time zones and late morning/early afternoon on Saturday across the Australia and New Zealand time zones.
This unfortunately means that if you live in Europe or Africa, you may find it challenging to participate live.
Depending on demand, I may do a second livestream in the future to accommodate those that are in Europe or Africa.
Here is the timetable for the first episode:
If you click on this link, it will take you to a page where you can download a calendar reminder (.ical file) which you can import to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or any other electronic calendar you use.
If you are unable to join me live, a recording will be sent through Substack and also uploaded to the Rumble channel.
It will also be distributed as a podcast episode you can listen to in the podcast app of your choice but keep in mind that this option is audio-only across most players. If you use Spotify to listen to podcasts, I will upload the video recording there as well so you will get the full experience.
Saying all that, I’d really love it if you could join me live this weekend. I think a show of the type I envision Actionable Take to be is made significantly better through audience participation.
See you at the livestream this weekend.
If you have any suggestion for other topics to discuss or any question, let me know in the comments below.
Darned, doesn't look like I'll be able to make it to this upcoming livestream in real time -- it's right in the middle of a seventh-day Sabbath from the sunset-to-sunset time frame. Will look forward to the released video afterwards and set myself an extra reminder for that. :)
