Your post was an excellent overview of how the situation unfolded in Nigeria as it makes the specific connection of how replacing the cash notes and then making the new ones hard to come by was BY DESIGN and how a society that didn't really have a history of using electronic payments can be pushed onto a CBDC very quickly and with relative ease. It terrifies me how easy it will be in any western country where tap-and-go is already a way of life.

Covid helped a lot to reduce the cash use scaring people they will catch it from the bills.
